First Draft: EXPERIENCE

Image
This is my first draft of my magazine. I will be getting feedback from my peers soon and take those and evaluate them to make changes if I want.

Production 9 "Final"

week 10 Everything is now complete with my magazine. I believe I could improve it in some aspects like editing my pictures even more and adding more color to my pages to make them more interesting, but other than that I believe that my magazine looks good and it is easy to tell who my target audience is and what people are wanting to get from reading my magazine.

Production 8 "Finishing Up"

week 10 This week I finalized everything and finished importing all of my pictures into InDesign. I rearranged all of my typography and images to where I liked them. I was unable to edit some of my pictures in time for the due date, but I will be getting that done as soon as possible on my own time. I think the images could look a little more interesting and keep the readers attention. I also want to add more color and decorations on to my feature article pages because they look a little plain.

Production 7 "Update"

week 9  I am continuing to work on my magazine project and learning different techniques and skills in InDesign through the process. I have the front cover completed and have been inserting and changing texts. I still need to edit some of my photos before inserting them, but other than that I am moving along and making progress.

Production 6 "Putting Everything Together"

Week 9 I currently have all of my images, my feature article written, and my recipe written. This week I have been inserting my images and putting in my text ( choosing the correct fonts and sizes that look best). I still need to edit some of my photos in InDesign, then put them in the magazine, which I will be getting done soon. I am a little slower at using InDesign because I'm still pretty new to it but I have been playing around and finding what parts do what.  Pictures I need to edit: Beignet picture  Poy Boy picture Person eating beignet picture

Production 5 "Production Images"

Week 8 Today I got all of my pictures taken. Now I need to just narrow it down and pick, plus edit the final ones. Tomorrow I will be editing my pictures and picking the final ones. Update: I am struggling a little on figuring out how to edit and do things in In Design but I am going to keep working  on it and watch some vidoes on how to do things.  One of the images I took

Production 4 "Interviews Update"

Week 8 Yesterday evening I called two different restaurants that were New Orleans style bakery's. 1. Café Du Monde ( In New Orleans)  2. Verneles ( In Texas)  Before this day I emailed them asking for a date, but they never got back so I decided to call them. Café Du Monde said they didn't want  to answer the questions but the café Verneles gladly answered them. I then mixed the interview in with my feature article and am continuing writing that. I did the interview over email and sent the questions to her.

Production 3 " Overall Plan/Update"

Week 8 Over break I sent out emails to different restaurant's and told them my idea for the interview ( how much time I would need from them and what my project is) and asked what time I could call their restaurant's to do an interview, but none of the restaurant's got back to me so this week I will just skip emailing and call them directly. Over break I was able to go to the park and take pictures of kids playing, but I still need to make and get pictures of my food pieces (beignets and Po boys). I will be taking these images this week as well. Plus I am going to start writing my feature article because I have already done a lot of research on beignets, but I will finalize it when I get my interviews. I haven't decide how I want to incorporate the interviews into my feature article yet, but I will be deciding that this week as well.   Image of kids playing (Still needs to be edited)
